Vehicle Access - Clixby Lane
Information for Residents of Clixby Lane - during the scheduled period of the water pipe upgrade (29th October to 20th December)
The new pipes will be laid on the left hand side of the road, as close to the verge as possible, so as to take up as little road space as possible. Vehicle access will be restricted during working hours, as it has been throughout the project to date. However, on this phase Anglian Water will make sure vehicles can access properties outside of working hours and over the weekend. As Clixby Lane is a dead end road, it will not be closed the whole time of the works. Please note the following arrangements agreed with Anglian Water:
- Emergency vehicle access will be granted during working hours. The engineering team will stop and help them through as necessary. This will also be the case if anyone needs emergency care from careers, rather than ambulances, etc.
- For deliveries, residents are asked to make a note on their delivery instructions of the road closure and that drivers may need to walk. Preferably, deliveries should be scheduled outside of working hours if at all possible. The team working on the pipe upgrade may be on hand to help if this isn't possible, but unfortunately every time work stops it runs the risk of making the job take longer to complete.
- Bin Collections will be made as normal. The collection lorry should be able to get down as usual at the start of the lane, however this might be a little tricky as work reaches the narrow end of Clixby Lane. Where possible, the site team will be on hand to help move any bins so they can be reached by the collector.
